Sarah M. Baker is a partner in Kiernan Trebach's Philadelphia office. Sarah's practice focuses on medical-malpractice and premises-liability defense. She also has experience in pharmacy-malpractice and workers'-compensation cases, and has assisted with the development and presentation of a continuing medical education (CME) course aimed at teaching medical malpractice defendants how to work most effectively with their defense counsel during a lawsuit.
Prior to joining Kiernan Trebach, Sarah practiced for six years with a specialized insurance defense firm in the Philadelphia area, where she regularly represented physicians, hospitals, pharmacists, and notably, a major regional transportation authority and its contractors, engaged in massive construction projects in Philadelphia, at both the trial and appellate levels. Sarah has successfully arbitrated cases in Philadelphia and its surrounding counties, with several arbitrations resulting in unappealed defense awards. In addition, she has won several major summary-judgment motions in premises liability and medical-malpractice cases.
Sarah is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and received her B.A. from Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA, in 2004, magna cum laude, and her J.D. from Roger Williams University School of Law in 2007, cum laude. She is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Sarah is an avid runner, and having run many 10Ks and a half-marathon.
