Michael DeBenedetto III is an Associate in the firm’s Parsippany, NJ office. Mr. DeBenedetto joined the firm in February of 2021 and his practice includes many aspects of civil litigation, including general liability, premises liability, products liability, environmental, trucking & transportation and construction.

Prior to joining Kiernan Trebach, Mr. DeBenedetto worked at large and mid-sized insurance defense firms in New Jersey and New York focusing on civil litigation areas such as general liability, premises liability, products liability, environmental, school district HIB defense, trucking & transportation and construction. In law school, he interned at the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) Region 2 in Manhattan.

Mr. DeBenedetto earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in English from St. John’s University in 2015 and earned his Juris Doctor degree from the St. John’s University School of Law in 2017 where he completed the B.A./J.D. accelerated degree program. While in law school, Mr. DeBenedetto served as the president of Catholic Law Students Association and vice-president of the Federalist Society. He also was published in the St. John’s Law Review Online Commentary. He was awarded the Daniel A. Furlong Award for Outstanding Service and Leadership to the Law School Community. In college, he served as a student manager on the St. John’s Men’s Basketball Team.

In his free time, he enjoys coaching football, playing golf and tennis and is an avid reader.
