Christopher E. Hassell |
Christopher E. Hassell is a Partner in the Firm's Washington D.C. and Virginia offices. He has forty years of experience litigating matters in the areas of medical malpractice and other professional liability, product liability, construction litigation, employment discrimination, premises liability and contracts.
Mr. Hassell has been lead trial counsel in well over a hundred trials in Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C. and has argued numerous appeals. Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Hassell was Director of Legal and Regulatory Affairs for ADP Integrated Medical Solutions, a division of Automatic Data Processing, Inc., a Fortune 500 Company. He is a court-appointed mediator in both the Superior Court of the District of Columbia and the United States District Court for D.C.. In 2006, Mr. Hassell was named D.C. Defense Lawyer of the Year.
Mr. Hassell is a member of the Virginia, Maryland and District of Columbia bars. He is also admitted to the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Federal District Courts in Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia. He is a member of the D.C. Defense Lawyer Association, the Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys and the Defense Research Institute.
Mr. Hassell graduated from Hobart College (cum Laude) with a B.A. in 1976 and received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 1979. After graduation from law school, Mr. Hassell served as law clerk to the Honorable Joseph M. Hannon, Associate Judge, Superior Court of the District of Columbia from 1979 through 1980.
