Brian Lowenberg |
Brian Lowenberg defends manufacturers, chemical companies, and insurance carriers in a variety of fields, but focuses primarily on products liability, premises liability, and catastrophic personal injury, including asbestos, benzene, pesticides, and groundwater contamination. Mr. Lowenberg attended Trinity University (2001) and the University of Houston Law Center (2004).
In law school, he won the Paust Award for Excellence in Writing and was published in the Defense Counsel Journal by the International Association of Defense Counsel. Mr. Lowenberg served as the Casenotes & Comments Editor for the Houston Journal of International Law and was appointed by the Dean to serve on the University Honor Court. He often taught at the law school’s Legal Research and Writing Clinic and still publishes articles in the Journal.
Immediately following law school, Mr. Lowenberg was elected to serve on the Board of Directors for the Texas Young Lawyers Association (TYLA). The President of the State Bar of Texas appointed Mr. Lowenberg to serve as a member of the Texas Pattern Jury Charge Committee, which establishes uniform standards of jury forms throughout the State of Texas. He served on the Committee with distinction from 2005 to 2017.
Mr. Lowenberg was selected as a Fellow to the Houston Young Lawyers Association (HYLA). This honor is limited to no more than 1% of the HYLA membership. This restriction on the number of Fellows is intended to assure that membership remains an honor and distinction. Its purpose is twofold: (1) to recognize outstanding members of Houston’s legal community, and (2) to support the charitable efforts of Houston’s young lawyers. Each year, the HYLF Board of Trustees nominate as Fellows select individuals who have demonstrated an exemplary personal commitment to Houston’s Young Lawyers and who are dedicated to the practice of law and the cause of justice. Each Fellow must be in good standing with the State Bar of Texas and of high professional standing among his or her peers.
Prior to joining Kiernan Trebach, Mr. Lowenberg served in an in-house role for one of the companies within the Berkshire Hathaway Group of Insurance Companies and previously practiced with a major international law firm based in Philadelphia and a premiere litigation boutique in Houston, Texas.
