Robert Bonilla |
Robert Bonilla is an associate in Kiernan Trebach’s Long Island office. Robert focuses his practice on premises liability, negligent security claims, sports, recreation and entertainment, complex civil litigation, and general insurance defense.
Robert attained a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice with a double minor in English and History with a concentration in law. Robert earned his Juris Doctor degree from the Pennsylvania State University Dickinson School of Law. While in law school, Robert served as a Senator to the Pennsylvania State University Faculty Senate, Treasurer of the Student Bar Association, and President of the Latinx Law Student Association. As President of the Latinx Law Student Association, Robert also participated in a national moot court competition.
Before joining Kiernan and Trebach, Robert worked as a Felony Assistant District Attorney in the Kings County District Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn, N.Y. As an Assistant District Attorney, Robert gained extensive first-hand experience directing complex legal investigations and direct and cross-examination of witnesses during presentations to the Grand Jury, hearings, and trials. Robert has also taken and won jury trials as a first and second seat to verdict during his tenure with the Kings County District Attorney’s Office.
