Michael Pivor is a partner in the firm’s Washington DC office. He has been involved in a variety of civil litigation matters in the state and federal courts throughout Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. He has represented individuals, families, and businesses in a variety of legal disputes, including personal injury, wrongful death, defense of architects & engineers, premises liability, products liability, alleged RICO violations, contract disputes, construction matters, landlord-tenant disputes, employment law, and professional malpractice. He has successfully tried numerous jury and bench trials, and has obtained the dismissals of several cases through dispositive motions.
Mr. Pivor was born in New York City and raised in Weston, Connecticut. His law career began with an internship at Camberwell Green Magistrate's Court in London, United Kingdom. Prior to becoming a civil litigator, he worked for two years as an assistant state’s attorney for the Montgomery County State's Attorney's Office pursuant to Maryland Rule 16.
Mr. Pivor is admitted to practice in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia.
He earned his J.D. from Washington College of Law at American University in 2004. He received his B.A., in both Law & Society and Public Communications, from American University in 2001.
