Elizabeth A. Bourke |
Elizabeth Bourke is an Of Counsel at Kiernan Trebach with over twenty years experience in civil litigation where she has focused on a variety of cases in the insurance industry, from insurance defense to coverage disputes as well as pursuit of subrogation claims. She has handled a range of cases from the ordinary slip and fall claim to mold litigation and wrongful death actions. The last 17 years were spent at a Rhode Island law firm where she gained valuable pretrial and courtroom skills while handling cases from inception through trial. She enjoys preparing and arguing motions for summary judgment, a number of which have been granted and upheld on appeal with the Rhode Island Supreme Court. Whether representing individuals or commercial entities, she strives to help counsel her clients to obtain favorable outcomes whether it be through negotiations, alternative dispute resolution, dispositive motions or trial. After many years litigating in Rhode Island's court-annexed arbitration program, she recently applied and was accepted as an arbitrator in that program.
Attorney Bourke graduated Fordham University with a B.A. in English. She attended Pace University School of Law where she was in the Pace Environmental Litigation Clinic representing the Hudson Riverkeeper. She obtained her J.D. from Pace, as well as a Certificate in the Environmental Law Program.
