Matt Healy is an Associate in Kiernan Trebach’s Annapolis, Maryland office. He concentrates his active litigation practice primarily in the areas of products liability, general liability litigation (to include: trucking and transportation, premises/landlord liability and negligent security, food retailers and manufacturers), intentional torts, construction and construction defect, and defending railroad companies against claims brought under the Federal Employers’ Liability Act.
Before joining Kiernan Trebach, Matt was an associate with a Baltimore based insurance defense firm where he handled an array of civil matters in state and federal courts. He also has experience representing local governments throughout the State of Maryland and advising same on their day-to-day operations. Matt is admitted to the state and federal courts of Maryland.
Matt received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School Of Law. During law school, he served as an Executive Notes and Comments Editor for the Journal of Race, Religion, Gender, and Class. He was also a member of his law school’s Moot Court Board and further served as a Teaching and Writing Fellow to first-year law students. In addition, Matt was a Rule 19-217 Student-Attorney in the Post-Conviction and Appellate Advocacy Clinic where he represented indigent criminal defendants on direct appeals of their convictions.
