|Sarah M. Baker|
Sarah M. Baker is a partner in Kiernan Trebach's Philadelphia office. Her practice focuses on medical malpractice, oral and maxillofacial surgery and dental malpractice, professional licensing and premises liability defense. She also has experience in appellate work, has developed and presented continuing medical education (CME) materials for medical practitioners, and has been honored to be a speaker at professional conferences.
Sarah has tried a number of cases to verdict, both in Philadelphia and its surrounding counties, and as solo, first-chair and co-counsel. Her trial and appellate work have resulted in defense verdicts in large medical malpractice matters, as well as preserving dismissals of malpractice cases on appeal. She has tried dozens of cases at judicial arbitration, many uncontested defense awards, and has briefed at all levels of Pennsylvania’s appellate courts, as well as argued before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.
Prior to joining Kiernan Trebach, Sarah practiced for six years with a specialized insurance defense firm in the Philadelphia area, where she regularly represented physicians, hospitals, pharmacists, and notably, a major regional transportation authority and its contractors, engaged in massive construction projects in Philadelphia, at both the trial and appellate levels.
Sarah is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and received her B.A. from Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA, in 2004, magna cum laude, and her J.D. from Roger Williams University School of Law in 2007, cum laude. She is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, Middle District of Pennsylvania, District of New Jersey, and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals. In her free time, Sarah enjoys spending time in her garden and running.
