Sim Rivkin is a Partner in the firm's New York office. Mr. Rivkin has over 13 years of civil litigation experience, zealously defending his clients in matters involving General Liability, Medical Malpractice, Premises Liability, Toxic and Mass Tort, Municipal Liability, Supervision and Security, and Labor Law. Mr. Rivkin began his career defending the City of New York as an Assistant Corporation Counsel in general liability matters across all stages of litigation, from pleadings to discovery to trials to appeals. He was the recipient of the Bonnie Bornstein Award for excellence in legal writing and practice. In 2012, Mr. Rivkin joined the NYC Health and Hospitals Corporation where he represented the City’s hospitals, long-term care facilities, doctors, and nurses in medical malpractice matters. Mr. Rivkin returned to the Corporation Counsel in 2016 as an Assistant Borough Chief, where he supervised a team of lawyers AND paralegals litigating a wide variety of disputes surrounding municipal tort law. In addition to directly overseeing cases, he regularly advised on complex legal issues and presented CLEs and lectures on substantive law topics.
Mr. Rivkin graduated cum laude from Yeshiva University, B.A., in 2005. He received his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School in 2008, where he was a Prince Scholar and Primary Articles and Symposia Editor of the Journal of Law and Policy. Mr. Rivkin is admitted to practice in state court in New York and New Jersey. He is also admitted to the U.S. District Court of New Jersey.
