William H. Mr. White began practicing law in Florida and, while he has devoted more time to his practice in Maryland and the District of Columbia in recent years, he maintains active bar status in Florida and New Jersey. Mr. White has also actively litigated matters around the country as pro hac vice counsel, including cases in state and federal courts in New York, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Ohio, Missouri, Tennessee, North Carolina, Louisiana, Texas, Nevada, California, Arizona, Virginia and Washington. Mr. White has also handled numerous appeals in both state and federal appeals courts.
Mr. White is experienced in contract, insurance and other commercial matters, as well as in personal injury, professional errors and omissions and professional malpractice. He has defended numerous attorney malpractice claims as well as construction defect claims against architects and engineers. Mr. White is also experienced in large-scale products liability and negligence cases, particularly in situations where the alleged wrongdoing affects multiple customers or otherwise implicates a company’s overall way of doing business. He has defended a large cheese producer in a series of food-borne illness suits and a large dialysis service provider in a series of matters questioning the quality of the services provided, among other matters.
Recent notable matters include representing an insurer of a developer of a mixed use development involving a substantial environmental remediation, and defending a hotelier from claims involving injuries at an overseas hotel.
Mr. White is a court-appointed mediator for the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, and he also mediates cases privately for parties. Mr. White is fluent in Spanish and often assists in communicating with both factual and expert witnesses with respect to their involvement in the case.
