In July 2014, D'Ana Johnson and William "Skip" White tried a conceded liability case involving a rear end collision in Carroll County Maryland. The case was tried before Judge Fred Hecker, newly appointed to the Circuit Court bench. Plaintiff's counsel dug in at $375,000 and claimed permanent hearing loss (conceded by the defense) and other soft tissue injuries. The defense offered $40,000. After 3 days of deliberations, the jury returned a verdict of $39,385,06 which the jurors reported was "calculated to the penny."
