Arya is an Associate in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office, where he focuses his practice on general liability litigation in both state and federal courts. He has represented clients in labor and employment disputes, as well as in premises liability, automobile claims, and other negligence matters. Arya also devotes a significant portion of his practice to defending common carriers by railroad against claims brought pursuant to the Federal Employers’ Liability Act. Prior to joining the firm, Arya represented clients in a range of civil matters, including landlord-tenant, consumer protection, community association, home improvement, and debt collection cases. His practice allowed him to represent both plaintiffs and defendants before multiple trial courts in the region.
During law school, Arya practiced as a student-attorney in the Criminal Records/Reentry Clinic, where he assisted eligible Baltimore City residents in expunging/shielding their records from public inspection to facilitate their successful reintegration into society. Arya also served as a research fellow for the Judge Alexander Williams, Jr. Center for Education, Justice, and Ethics, and as a judicial intern for the Honorable Irma S. Raker (Ret.) of the Supreme Court (formerly Court of Appeals) of Maryland.
Outside of work, Arya enjoys exercising, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and supporting his local D.C. sports teams.
