We are seeking a Mid-Level Environmental Litigation Attorney with 6–10 years of experience to join our New York office. This role is focused on the defense of environmental, toxic tort, and regulatory matters. The ideal candidate will have experience representing corporate clients, insurers, and insureds in complex, high-exposure litigation and enforcement actions.
What You Will Do:
As an Attorney at our firm, you will:
Defend clients in environmental and toxic tort litigation from inception through resolution
– Represent corporate clients and insurers in regulatory enforcement actions and compliance disputes
– Manage all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation
– Develop and execute defense strategies in complex, multi-party litigation
– Analyze liability, causation, and damages issues, including scientific and technical evidence
– Retain and work closely with expert witnesses, including environmental consultants and technical specialists
– Draft and argue dispositive motions and other substantive filings
– Appear at court conferences, hearings, mediations, and arbitrations
– Advise clients on risk mitigation and compliance with environmental laws and regulations
– Collaborate with partners on high-stakes defense matters involving significant exposure

What You Will Bring:
Our ideal candidate will have 6-10 years of relevant experience and the following credentials/skills:
– Litigation experience with a focus on environmental, toxic tort, or civil defense matters
– Demonstrated experience defending cases from inception through resolution
– Strong motion practice and deposition experience
– Experience working with experts and technical subject matter
– Excellent legal writing, analytical, and advocacy skills
– Ability to independently manage a caseload while contributing to a team environment
– Prior insurance defense experience strongly preferred
– Familiarity with federal and state environmental regulatory frameworks is a plus
Required Education & Licensure:
- Juris Doctorate Degree (J.D.).
- Active New York License (Required).
- Active New Jersey Bar Licensure, and/or ability to transfer UBE scores (Preferred).
- Being able to waive into the New Jersey bar and having multiple bars is ideal, however, we are willing to consider candidates with only one bar.

Salary Range:
- $130,000 – $180,000
