Mark has been a Partner with the firm since 2004 and manages the firm’s Philadelphia and Cherry Hill offices. He has over 35 years of experience in litigation and trials in the area of product liability, including asbestos and lead litigation, general negligence and catastrophic loss. More specifically, Mark has defended corporate clients and insurance companies in cases that involve premises liability, elevator maintenance, asbestos, food-borne illness, food safety and professional errors and omissions. He has handled matters involving catastrophic losses in the context of products liability, industrial facilities and construction worksites.

Mark has tried cases at both the federal and state court levels in both Southeastern and Northeastern Pennsylvania. He has appeared before the New Jersey Supreme Court and Appellate Division in several catastrophic loss cases.

Notable Matters

  • Obtaining summary judgment in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania in a case involving allegations of discrimination and a hostile work environment on behalf of a nationally based quick service restaurant franchisor.  
  • Obtaining summary judgment on behalf of a nationally based quick service restaurant franchisee in the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas where an employee alleged that she was severely burned when she came into contact with cooking oil for French fries.  
  • Obtaining summary judgment in the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas in an asbestos case on behalf of a national company that manufactured and supplied cement products that plaintiff alleged that he contracted mesothelioma as a result of picking up cement products at the factor.
  • Winning defense verdict in Lebanon County on behalf of a national retail store where plaintiff claimed he was struck by an automatic door resulting in permanent injury to his shoulder, elbow and hand.
  • Obtaining summary judgment in the U.S. District for the Middle District of Pennsylvania on behalf of a national retail store that operated a large distribution center in Northeastern Pennsylvania where the plaintiff claimed permanent disability when she slipped and fell on ice while attempting to unhitch the trailer from the tractor at the loading dock. 
  • Obtaining summary judgment in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania in favor of an employer and against the product manufacturer for damages flowing from a workplace injury based upon Pennsylvania's contractual indemnity law.
  • Winning a defense verdict in Dauphin County on behalf of a franchise owner of a nationally based quick service restaurant where the plaintiff claimed she was caused to fall by a defective curb on a sidewalk.
