Naomi A. Plakins is a Partner Emeritus in the firm’s Philadelphia office, where she concentrated her practice on the defense of physicians, hospitals, and other health care providers in complex medical-malpractice litigation. As first chair, she tried to verdict high-exposure cases involving cancer diagnosis, catastrophic birth injuries, open-heart surgery, minimally invasive surgery, orthopedic surgery, general surgery, catastrophic neurologic injury, pediatric ophthalmology, and sudden cardiac death, to name a few. She has tried approximately 100 major cases to verdict in Philadelphia and the surrounding counties, and has been awarded Martindale-Hubbell’s AV-Preeminent rating in legal ability and ethics for over a decade. She has been named a Pennsylvania SuperLawyer since 2006.

Naomi also maintained an active litigation practice in the defense of individuals and institutions in matters involving general liability, products liability, pharmacy liability, nursing home liability, insurance coverage, construction and a wide variety of commercial matters.

Naomi served as a Faculty Panel Member at seminars presented at Wills Eye Hospital, Philadelphia, and has been an invited speaker on medical malpractice topics at numerous professional liability insurance companies and hospital risk management departments.
