Scott A. Hanna is Of Counsel in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office.

Prior to joining Kiernan Trebach, Scott practiced for nineteen years at a litigation boutique where he represented European-based insurers in complex multistate litigation brought by lead paint manufacturers seeking coverage in response to more than thirty underlying public nuisance cases filed by states and municipalities.

Scott has extensive experience in meeting clients’ needs in legal matters both large and small– including representation of corporate officers in federal criminal and regulatory prosecutions, advising pharmaceutical companies on FDA compliance, navigating the ever-changing demands of e-discovery, and shepherding claims of childhood sexual abuse against a national boys’ organization.

For his service to underserved communities – a non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds for underprivileged schoolchildren in the District of Columbia, and youthful claimants in need of medically necessary care – Scott was recognized on the 2022 and 2023 Pro Bono Honor Roll by the District of Columbia Courts.

Scott holds a law degree from the Georgetown University Law Center where he was the Senior Notes and Comments Editor of the Georgetown Immigration Law Journal.
