Experience

Kyara L. Herard was born and raised in Miami, Florida where she graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Sociology and earned her Juris Doctor from Barry University Dwayne O. Andreas School of Law.

Kyara began her legal career as an Assistant Public Defender at the Broward County Public Defender’s Office where she represented indigent clients in Misdemeanor, Domestic Violence, and Felony cases from client intake through disposition. Through her career as an Assistant Public Defender, Kyara litigated numerous jury trial, evidentiary motions, and magistrate hearings in Criminal Court.

Prior to joining Kiernan Trebach, Kyara worked as In-House Counsel for two prominent insurance companies in South Florida where she gained extensive experience litigating and defending insurance carriers in all aspects regarding residential property claims.

Kyara is licensed to practice in Florida, District of Columbia, New York, and the Southern District of Florida.

Kyara thoroughly enjoys being a lawyer as she enjoys her ability to impact the lives of organizations and people’s lives by zealously advocating for her clients and achieving favorable outcomes on their behalf. As Kyara often says, no two days as a lawyer are the same, so every day feels like she is evolving.

Outside of work, Kyara loves to travel, watch sports, and try new Miami restaurants with friends and family.
