Experience

Ryan is an Associate in the firm’s District of Columbia office. He represents clients in cases involving personal injury from automobile accidents, workplace incidents, and alleged nursing home abuse and neglect. Ryan also works on medical malpractice cases, representing doctors who are accused of deviating from accepted standards, and hospital entities accused of institutional or corporate negligence. Ryan has worked in a hospital for five years as a clinical pharmacist before continuing as a retail pharmacist. His background as a pharmacist for over ten years gives him the unique ability to understand the dynamic landscape of healthcare. He is intimately familiar with pharmacy procedures and general hospital and pharmacy standards of care.

In addition to his role at the firm, Ryan is an Adjunct Instructor of Pharmacy Jurisprudence at Howard University. The course involves an in-depth examination of the laws and regulatory issues pertaining to the practice of pharmacy. Specifically, the course focuses on malpractice and pertinent sections of the federal Controlled Substances Act, Food Drug and Cosmetic Act and other federal and state law. He has experience preparing healthcare powers of attorney, advance directives, estate planning, and education law. Ryan previously drafted appellate decisions for the Department of Veterans Affairs, and has successfully represented clients involved in personal injury lawsuits and complex litigation involving mass tort product liability claims.
